 Why we need you?
The role of client relations officer serves as a liaison with our clients and customers, developing relationships, providing guidance and advice and ensuring all of the customer’s needs are being met. The client relations offer will also present a marketing plan, outline the approach and act as the go-between, providing an overview of options for branding, advertising or community outreach, taking the customer’s feedback to the agency and helping refine services to meet the client’s needs. In short, the client relations officer helps ensure every client is happy with the relationship they have with the company, and takes action to improve relations and trouble-shoot issues if problems arise.

Duties & Responsibilities
Your routine tasks are likely to include:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and key personnel within customer companies.
  • Meeting clients to discuss their advertising needs
  • Working with account planners to devise a campaign that meets the client’s brief and budget
  • Presenting campaign ideas and costings to clients
  • Briefing the creative team who will produce the creative concepts
  • Project and production management which means understanding of creative development process, working with visual design and production teams to complete the project on time
  • Negotiating with clients, solving any problems and making sure deadlines are met
  • Checking and reporting on the campaign’s progress
  • Keeping in contact with the client at all stages of the campaign
  • Managing the account’s budget and invoicing the client
  • Making ‘pitches’ to win new business
  • Short and long-form copywriting skills
  • Write, edit and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles

Qualifications and Experience
First Degree in :

  • Advertising
  • Marketing
  • Statistics or operational research
  • Communication and media studies
  • Business or management
  • Psychology
  • Experience developing Digital Marketing Strategy/Customer Service
  • Experience developing and managing the execution of cross channel marketing campaigns

Required Competences
To be a successful account executive you’ll need:

  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Confidence, tact and a persuasive manner
  • To work on tasks independently, with direction
  • To be extremely organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, but able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Good ‘people skills’, for working with a range of colleagues and clients
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team
  • A willingness to work long hours, often under pressure
  • To independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Knowledge of social media and digital culture from theory to real, personal experiences

Working Hours

  • Normal office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.
  • Flexible work arrangement available in most cases (must be agreed with manager).
  • May be required to work outside of regular working hours as required by assignments
